Gorleston St. Andrews 1907-08 2
Hi Ron I thought these may appeal to you ,as you have an interest in the game .  This one is of Gorleston St. Andrews F.C.1907-08 ( this is what is written on the football). The only players I can name are, middle row centre with ball between his knees is young Wilfred Burgess. At end of middle row seated far right, my father Cecil Bensley. My dad would have been 17 years old at this time.

Back row from the left my father Cecil Bensley, far right Harry Brooks, at one time he was the landlord of the pub on Trafalgar Road East. The only other player I can name is his cousin, Tun Watson, middle row far right. Could be around 1912-13.

Senior Cup 2This is the year when Gorleston won a host of cups including The Seniors Cup. Again I cannot name the players. My dad Cecil Bensley is directly under the window At some time he was Captain of Gorleston, but I dont Know when. He died when I was only 13 during the war, so I was a little too young to take a lot of interest. Front row, far right seated Tun Watson. My fathers Brother Ted played for Margate Town & his son, my cousin Ted, or Biff Bensley, played for England in the 1936 Olympics. Ted is still around, aged 85 and living in Margate, Kent.
