Den Reader is no ordinary photographer.
He has been taking photos since he was eight years old when he was given a Box Brownie. Now, living in Norfolk UK and able to devote more time to being out in the lovely Broadland countryside, he sees subjects and compositions all round him. He will wait for hours for the right light and conditions. He now mainly uses an Olympus OM-2 fairly basic 35mm single lens reflex manual camera. Most of his work is taken on Fujichrome 100.
His interpretation of what he photographs has earned him world wide recognition, with his work being accepted by the highly renowned Image Bank Agency in the USA, and currently with Superstock, Photonica and Flower photos .
Over 20,000 of his photographs are held by various agencies around the world, and are used for advertising, magazine illustrations, up-market postcards or record covers. He has also mounted exhibitions in London, the Home Counties and East Anglia.
Den believes in being “true to himself” - and makes no attempt to target the commercial market or to manipulate his pictures digitally after being taken.
